Pinhead Oatmeal is probably the oldest and most traditional oatmeal. It’s made from the whole grain, with just the outer husk removed, before the groats are cut into pieces. Pinhead oatmeal makes a substantial, nutty porridge with a strong flavour, there is a tradition to soak the oatmeal overnight. Pinhead is also perfect for adding texture and nutritional value to soups, stews and especially haggis. Ideal for toppings on pies, puddings and crumbles, and even for coating fish and meat before cooking.
